A Few Brothers Have Spoken.

You answered five brief questions in a survey last month. Here is what you said:

What is your fondest memory of being part of Beta Theta Pi?

  • Living in the Beta house.
  • The lifelong friends I formed there!
  • Meeting the larger Beta community at the conventions and leadership camp
  • Superb long-time friends

What are the top 3 things you gained from your Beta Theta Pi experience?

  • How to deal with people in various life situations. How to be a part of a team. Leadership skills.
  • Friends, confidence, brotherhood.
  • 1) Accountability starts with oneself; 2) Friendship/brotherhood requires a mutual effort; 3) A chapter should be more than one man
  • Maturity, comradery, polish

How would your life be different today if you had never joined Beta Theta Pi?

  • I would not have been as successful in my corporate & business world as I was.

  • It would be much narrower.

Share an update (family, career, hobbies, other interesting news) for possible publication in an upcoming mailing.

  • Enjoying retirement, but still active in my local community as a member of City Council & Mayor.
  • I'm the second oldest living Alpha ETA alum.
  • I work in behavioral analysis in South Carolina.
  • I have retired from teaching and from Liberty Fund and now live on 20 acres in the mountains outside of Bozeman, Montana.

As an alumni association, we strive to keep you connected with the Alpha Eta chapter long after graduation. What could we do to encourage you to become more active in the association? Perhaps by hosting more fun events? Any other advice?

  • Continue communicating what is going on with alums & active chapter.
  • It's hard for me to get back to Ohio.
  • I have enough local organizations I support and do not wish to be more active

Thank you for sharing your memories and your opinions. Your words mean something to us, brothers. We have heard you and will act on your advice.
