What Does Beta Mean To You?

"Not necessarily a role model, but there were Brothers who had characteristics I admired," said Ed Weber '53. "I remember Bruce MacNab '52 for warmth and friendliness, Dick Lugar '54, who was considerate of everyone's advancement and took time to be helpful. Tom Creager '53 taught me how to have fun. Dean Owen '53 is the best example I know of what "fraternal," means. The fraternity experience is only relevant if it assists in the men's education. It must not take time away from studies. Its chief mission is to provide a place where strong friendships can be built - a relaxing getaway.

Beta opened my life to young men I would not have met in any other way. A forced diversity of good friends and experience in leadership of a self-governing bunch."
